Bundestagswahl

Berlin, 06.09.2021 – Seven German and international non-governmental organizations are launching the “China-Election-Check”: A program that is based on the Wahl-O-Mat, voters can use this tool to compare their positions on China policy with those of the various political parties standing. The “Election Check” is now available online.
„We asked all parties represented in the Bundestag for their positions. We wanted to know how the German parties would respond to China’s ongoing gross human rights violations if they entered the government,“ says “China-Election-Check” initiator David Missal. The sinologist and human rights activist initiated the project together with a Hong Kong pro-democracy activist in exile Ray Wong.
„China-Election-Check offers an interactive format on the subject of Germany-China politics for the election.“ says Ray Wong. „We hope this will reach even more people and encourage parties to take a stand.“ The parties responded to a total of eight topics in the Election Check: The spectrum of topics range from 5G technology to Olympic boycotts to the question of sanctions.
The organizers have contacted all parties represented in the Bundestag for the initiative. With the exception of the AfD, all parties responded.
The “China Election Check” is brought to you by the Tibet Initiative Germany, Hong Kong Watch, Hongkongers in Germany Association, the International Society for Human Rights, the World Federation of Taiwanese Associations, the World Uyghur Congress and Germany Stands With Hong Kong.
(World Federation of Taiwanese Associations)、世界維吾爾代表大會(Weltkongress der Uiguren)和Germany Stand With Hong Kong共同參與和支持。
